The myth of hitting the ball in front of you

We are all taught to hit the ball in front of us.  Unfortunately that is a misconception that causes so many problems. It’s one of the main optical illusions of golf.

Here is a video that discusses the timing of the release to maximize power. The instructor does a good job of comparing an early, late and correctly timed release.

Power from Keeping arms close to your body

If you have heel contact or the occasional “hosel-rocket” try getting your hands closer to your legs and body through impact. www.mcdanielgolf.com.  I started working this concept and it did help my swing.
